Thought i'd start a build thread on here for my 89 std cab. The truck has been setting since 2002 with a locked up motor. I got my mazda almost completed and decided to take a break from it to start on this about 3 weeks ago. On with the pics.

Here's what I started with.
Image

Engine/Trans and front clip removed.
Image

Bed off. Ready to go to the shop.
Image

Cab off.
Image

Ready for z and sfbd
Image

Back half cut off.
Image

1.5" z all plated up.
Image

No pinch here.
Image

Where i'm at now. Almost ready to start on the back half. Still gotta drop the frame in front for the bumper/radiator support and do the back body mounts.

Small update. Got all the body mounts tacked in and the front dropped for the core support/bumper. Just gotta finish plating that up. Going to check on metal for the back half tomorrow. Here's the mock up of the front clip and cab.

No plan on 4wd fenders. Thought about swapping to tacoma headlights. Just a mock up there.

Never really been into hydros, especially on a truck when theres not really a way to hide the cylinders. The lift is nice and all that it's just not really my thing. I suppose on a truck you have less to worry about if you get a leak and such, but I'd much rather have to fix an air leak than a hydraulic fluid leak. Does the mazda ride nice?

Front's not too bad the back is stiff. I'd like to put accumulators on it, but i;ve been dumping my money into the toyota lately. Got front bag brackets and 2 slam re6's on the way. Need some drop spindles.

You kinda run into the same problem with bags though, unless you run a setup that uses real low pressure, theres just not enough weight. I've heard of people using accumulators but I've never ridden in anything with em. Just been in and around a couple buddies lowriders, trying to convince them to go with bags. Its kinda weird seein lowriders nowadays with bags though, I'm so used to seein hydros on em.
