i finally uploaded some more recent pics.. just when i get everything together and almost ready to drive... well.. its time to tear apart again.. main reason was its going to be a daily driver again hopefully soon and it wouldnt pass smog.. so i cut the back half off and doing completely all new... subframe..valves. comps. tank. cell, bed etc. unfortunately.. broke at the moment so im stuck at building my 4link.. ohwell.

now i just need to get some tires and finish 4 link and 6 more valves

you can do it like that but it will crack and look nasty. body filler isnt supposed to really get any thicker than 1/4" which is a lot of filler...especially on a door that gets opened and closed day in and day out.

your best bet would be to grind the paint off and make filler plates out of sheetmetal. weld those in place, slowly so you dont warp the body panels. grind down all the welds until its smooth, and then apply the body filler to to fade it and shape it to perfection. the less body filler used, the better.

no, i cut out strips of sheetmetal the size of the bodyline/indention , welded it up then did bodywork over that.
