I have the small quater glass windows on my 82 which you would have noticed and I am after some pointers to convert them to full glass.

This swap was alot eaiser on RDGR8A as I just swapped the complete doors

Image

Just recently I have aquired a complete set of doors with full glass :D but the doors are fucked but all the internal parts are there

Image

Do I just need to trim the guide rail of the quarter glass doors and match up all the full glass rails/rubbers etc?

Thanks

James

i did the swap on my 94 using my doors and all new goodies from the yota parts dept. should be similar on your 82.
step one: remove everything.
step two: trim out the mounts for the quarter window bracket, should be one up top and one under the belt molding location. then the new glass, rubber, and tracks should bolt right in.

All you need is the regulator, and the rubber guide that goes around the window frame, and the window guide in the front of the door. Everything else is the same.
If you can find it cheaper, I can fix it.

that pretty much just leaves the rear guide and the bolts being stock right? dont you need the belt molding as well?

Yeah. I don't know what the belt moulding is. But I forgot to mention the squeegee type gaskets that go against the window.

yep, thats the belt molding. keeps (most) water from getting inside the door.
