I asked the guy that put a windshield in one of my cars recently about a new windshield and trim for my Toyota and he told me that the only place he knew to get the trim was the dealer.

ive looked for it too, asked around and all that mess, turns out its a dealer only part. if you get lucky you can find some one ebay but a lot of times, its in no better condition then whats on there. (at least for me thats the case) but yeah the dealer told me 300+ too. hell i think the corners are like 45 a piece or something like that.

For one, they only used the chrome trim for 2 years, 86-87. Another reason why its so hard to find is that people mangle the living shit out of it when they try to take it off. I got lucky and my parts truck had some great trim except it was missing 1 piece. It even had the chrome drip rails.

I'll tell you how I search after I get a complete set, LOL

I just use "toyota truck, trim" usually it will come up with some chrome trim, not always though.

am i the only one that doesnt care for the chrome trim. i personally have been thinking about the black 'rubber' trim that some newer cars have around their windshields. to me i like it better for some reason, i think its b/c it looks more sleek and subtle. but then again thats the kind of guy i am

i'm gonna use the black on mine. It will be new of course, but it'll be black.

The black trim looks good on some trucks. The original black I have, looks like crap due to the 30+ coats of various black others have applied to it. I think the chrome looks better against my red.

I've gone through this too ,there is no rubber that will look right or stay in right! The 8 pieces from the dealer ,if you can find them are $380.
The dealer here in Vallejo told me there were only a few sets left in the country, so he got them for me for $225. Will sell my old pieces when I replace the glass.

^^^ your talking about getting the molding thats similar to the back glass only to go around the windshield? i dont think they make it for these trucks. just a black version of whats on there now with the cheesy rubberized coating over top. i had that black on my truck but after the sun beating on it for the past 19 years, ive managed to peal 95% of it off and now its chrome, but the seals that seal up to the windshield are shot so i think im just gonna suck up the cost and get it from the dealer. 8o(.

you can find all the clips and stuff that hold it in place on ebay. btw.

I found one guy that had a all rubber seal, said it only held it's shape a short time, then started popping out!! The metal ones that are black are just a painted surface!!
