if nebody kan help me figure out my body drop questions b4 i harmonic balancer!!! up my truck that would b awsome... i need some detialed pics of cuts and other mods i will have to do to get my truck to lay with folded pinch weld.... if theres sum good info we should make this a sticky... thanks in advance...

Okay. Its a 2" body drop. I cut 1.5" strip out of the back of the cab to allow for an overlap.

Then cut out a 2" strip on the front of the floorboard, and above the tranny tunnel.

I ended up building a low profile tranny tunnel to keep the heat.

Then cut straight down the side of the floor to connect the front and rear cuts. Then, let it drop.


You'll have to cut through some body mount supports. Brace them later on.

Line it back up (I made some referrence marks with a marker) and weld the rear part together, and start making filler panels.



Now is also a good time to replace any rust floor panels. Lol.

Oh, and pull the speedo cable off. Its right against the floor, and the firewall. I melted mine and had to get a new one..

why such a big hole in the middle of the rear of cab? do i just lay teh truck out on flat ground and start cutting or use sumthin to line it up with the frame?

Reason for the big hole is that there was a big hump there. Having a flat wall makes more room for a stero. So I just plated it with 1/8" plate, and then skinned the outside with 16 guage.

And you can see it in the pics a little bit, but I welded some 2x2 tube, and some C channel on th ebottom of the frame, and set that on the ground.


And yea, I have pics of everything I do.

Seth, i still want to see how you did your pass. toe panel since your keeping the heater box and all that.

Ok. I remember you said you cut it to the pinch. The far side of my tub is butted against the bottom of the firewall pinch. If you messed up, you can add filler plates.

here ya go
