All...I'm new here, but thought I'd share a few pics of the weekend project: new carpet & some sound deadening on the floor.
Before:
Image
Stripped (see where someone/something pissed in the passenger footwell at some point in the past):
Image
So, I scrubbed the floor off and laid down some RAAMMat BXT 60:
Image
And some Ensolite sound-absorbent foam over that:
Image
Laid down the carpet & reinstalled the crappy seats:

New seats or recovered seats are next... :)

Anyway...just wanted to share... :)

thats cool dude, looks better than it did.

did that sound deadener make a big difference in road noise? i need to put new carpet in my truck again, i got a rip in mine around the shifter boot and was just wondering if it was worth the money.

Thanks. :)

I already had the sound deadener stuff in the doors & in the sides & rear of the x-cab. Made a *huge* difference just there. I haven't had a chance to drive it since I did the floor - still have to get the passenger seat & seat belts in. :)

Sound deadener works great, & theres more than one brand out there. I found & used FatMat, much lower in cost.

Agreed - lots of options out there. I had tried the "Peel and Seal" material previously, but picked raammat based on my limited budget and this comparison test:

Here's an update...
1. New carpet
2. New seat skins
3. New stereo (temporary mount)
4. New speakers
5. Custom speaker & tweeter mounts (my first experience with doing fiberglass)
6. Dash & other panels painted with spray-on bedliner ('bout half done)

Door closed:

Door only:

Pretty happy so far. Just have to finish the mount for the stereo, and finish painting the interior panels for now... :)

Those are reference speakers right. Fukin rock dont they! I had a pair of 4x6 kappa plates, best speakers in my opinion. I like the mounts ant the seat!

Thanks for the compliments guys. :)

Yup, they're Infinity Reference speakers... :) They sound 100x better than the generic 4" coaxes that were in the dash previously... :) And the Alpine head unit sounds much better than the ancient Pioneer cassette player that was in there...hehe

I like your fiberglass pods for the tweets, I just cheated and got me some foot space robbing q-forms, but they are also Infinity reference and they compliment very well ! I just put my tweets in the top of the pillar trim !

* bare with me and my dirty a** floor mats, its hard as hell to keep those clean this time of year, plus they are leaving soon !

Thanks so much ! I did so much sound deadoning it it, I can barely hear the stock motor running unless the windows are down, it is so quiet. IF any are wondering, Im going with a black silver theme for paint. Sometimes I wish I had an extended cab, but Im comfortable sitting in it, I drove to Oregon this past summer and it was hella comfy, I kicked off the shoes cranked the tunes a lil, rolled down the windows and motored on. I do plan on changing the bench to a half back bucket with no headrests, that way I can implement my center console with an armrest and a capacitor hiding inside witha cooling fan. Also, debating changing the black velvet to this ( url below ) ( color = smoke ) . . . on the door skins, seats, visors and a totally custom headliner . . .

http://www.yourautotrim.com/nudidpr.html

. . . then, I wanna glass the dash and do a one off dragon in flight on it with fiberglass & airbrush it. alote of dreaming, but, Im addicted ! ! !
