Ok strokes, I need a little help on a small matter. Yesterday I took the truck out, drove fine aside from alignment and the throttle cable hanging up. I have given the throttle cable all the adjustment the cable has to offer but I need a little more for the carb to retract to its natural state. Its seems its hanging the most between the firewall and where it mounts at the top of the valve cover.

Does anyone know if the FI throttle cable is any longer there than the carb'd version? Does anyone have a trick as to get a little more adjustment out of this? Anyone used a GOOD aftermarket throttle cable that works with the import style ends?

I can grab the carbs throttle adapter and turn it enough by hand that it idles down with relative ease

if you could possibly get dimensions there is a place here that makes cables of all kinds. its a place called terry cable. they might have a website. it looks like the 22r cable only slightly longer? i could probably get one made the exact same only longer... but im not sure how much longer. the stealership or napa dont carry the 22re cables anymore?

I'm gonna try one thing tomorrow with the pedal to try to gain some room. Then after that I will start looking into getting a cable made or modifying one.

Jeff you by chance know what that place charges on building cables?

Can't you just bend or modify the bracket a little bit? I had a slight problem once with the return spring on my carb that wouldn't bring it back all the way to idle.
Visit Diverse-customs.com - metal fabrication, suspension, custom paint and body, from Street Rods to imports, and everything in between.

There wasn't enough slack with either side of the bracket.

I fixed the problem though. I took the gas pedal off and bent the end where the cable connects at. It gave me enough freeplay that I could set my idle screw and low idle.
