Hey all... I just got this sweet 1984 longbed lowrider that was built way back in the late 80's. Its way sick with baby moon wheels and a still decent paint job. The problem here is that the engine needs rod and main bearings. The rest of the motor is fine, so I really dont wanna strip it all down right now. I got it running within 30 mins of bringing it home and it has good compression. Usually I'd tear the motor out and go through it all, but with this one I wonder if I can do the job with the motor in the truck ? I have seen other folks do it to 258 straight sixes and the such. Has anyone done a bottom end job by pulling the oil pan and leaving the motor ? Any tips or suggestions ? ...Thanks
