I have the older model 22r in my 82 pick up (old style rocker cover) and I am looking at replacing the box behind it with another 5speed from the 89-97 model.

Will this be a straight swap?

clutch probably wont interchange, use the newer clutch too.

this should be a straight swap but I would probably go with a newer clutch but if you want a stronger setup use a flywheel and clutch from a 94 22re extracab BECAUSE IT HAS A 9 inch clutch
