goes to the big valve thing under your intake. your buddy's engine has a header and yours has a manifold. call LC Engineering tomorrow morning. 1-877-505-2501. Toll free. call em. get a f'n header damnit. you'll thank me.

perhaps a block off plate? to be perfectly honest, i kept all that crap because i'm using the stock injection so my piece will be reliable.

I think it's only on the EFI engines, & you should keep it as it directs hot air to the cold start valve & more!!

I have a carb and that pipe tied into the EGR system.

Pipe goes to the EGR you dont really need it unless you live in a smog state, You could make some block off plates or get a header not all headers will block it off though, I have a Thorley Header with a LC metal exhaust manifold gasket

that pipe is for smog but I live in Mass and I take it off every 4 cyl toyota I have had and have passed the sniffer for years ..and still now.. the quickest and easiest way to get rid of it is to cut close to the manifold pinch the tube and weld it up thangrind it smooth and put it back on... then dsconnect all the crap it conects to all thway around to the airbox and plug the large tube coming off the airbox...

That may be true but you would fail the visual inspection if no EGR valve and related parts are missing

yeah ive come up with the solution to my emissions problem here in ca. buy a 1200 dollar long block from autozone, let it sit on a stand with all the stuff on it and every other year swap motors for smog. haha. i plan on running side drafts and some other no no mods for CA emssions.
